At the end of XIX century, Francesco Rocca started his historical business by loose wine. In 1936 his son Angelo enhanced the wine production and built up a cellar in Nardò, Apulia. In the 1960's the first bottling line was bought and thus started the distribution of products under the Rocca brand. Nowadays, Ernesto Rocca (the founder's grandson) along with his sons Paolo, Marco, Luca and Matteo, he shares duties and responsibility with, runs the family business, which includes also a building company and a leading trot horse stud farm.

Few kilometres far from the splendid Ionian coast, in Leverano, in the heart of Salento, "Don Cataldo" and "Vignali Grandi" estates, more than 80 hectares, offer quality and prestigious to the Rocca business. The land is an average blend of clayey-calcareous soil. The influence of the sea together with modern technologies and passion in management allow a constant production of an excellent level. The 'autochthonous' vines Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo are destined to the region's typical wines production, such as Leverano DOC.

According with the multiplicity of needs and the market evolution, the company is able to bottle DOC, DOCG and IGT wines coming from the most prestigious production areas in different packaging and with different brands. The new head office is modern and functional, with a 5,000 mq underground cellar for stocking and refining products at an ideal temperature and humidity. The cold-sterile bottling takes place with the use of the most modern work and supervision technologies. The two set out lines have an effective production of 10,000 and 4,000 bottles respectively per hour.
